This is Dan and Martina
reporting from Urca, Rio de Janeiro, Brazil
This is our hi-fi sound system where we live and work,
where this bird also lives,
and together we make noise all day, looking over this bay
that looks like this at night.
Behind us is this mountain (with a little guy on it).
Did you know there is a 28-storey-high Christmas tree floating in a lake here (the lake is called “Lagoa”)…
that shoots fireworks…
for 10 minutes straight?!
Anyway, today started like every other day, except that we bought the hipstamatic app for our phone, and things started to look waaaaaaay cooler….
(not that the sugarloaf mountain needs any help to be cool).
And so we took pictures all day…
and thought, FINALLY we have something we can show our friends.
Then while we were putting all of these photos together, a motherfucker of a storm came through and flooded our house from the top down!
Now the studio looks like this.

I still look like this,
but we are having a good time and writing some new songs, and we’ll be out there as soon as we can to play them for you all.
