It’s been a while since we’ve unleashed any new Dragonette material, but March will see the release of two brand spanking new tunes. As they ready the video for the first proper new single “Let It Go” (be sure to check the twitter feed for some sneak previews @dragonette) to be unleashed at the end of the month, today sees the unveiling of “The Right Woman,” which is a collaboration with producer Felix Bloxsom, who has worked with Sia and Empire of the Sun, and produces, remixes, and DJs under the Plastic Plates moniker (check out his amazing stuff here – http://soundcloud.com/plasticplates).

“The Right Woman” appears on Proud to be Woman Vol. 3, a compilation put together by Diane von Furstenberg in celebration of International Women’s Day, released both digitally and as a limited edition Play button. All proceeds from the compilation benefit Vital Voices (http://www.vitalvoices.org/), an organization dedicated to empowering women worldwide. In conjunction with these releases, and in the lead-up to the release of Dragonette’s 3rd album (which is almost done!), Dan, Tina, and Joel are hitting the road to play a combination of new tracks and old favorites, stopping at SXSW and Coachella along the way, and popping in to the Juno Awards, where they’ll perform “Hello” and see if their nomination turns into their first win!

Unfortunately due to a scheduling conflict with the Juno Awards rehearsals, our show in Halifax and Waterloo have been slightly rescheduled.

The Waterloo show has moved from Saturday March 31st to Saturday March 24th, and the Halifax show has moved from Thursday March 29th to Wednesday March 28th. We hope that your plans are flexible enough to accommodate the new dates, but if they aren’t you can get a refund from the promoters, and hopefully we can make it up to you in another way (email dragonette@punkdafunk.com if we majorly bummed you out, and we’ll hook you up with something fun).

If these moves cause you an inconvenience we’re truly sorry, but we though it would be better to move the shows than to cancel them or do them far in the future. We hop you all can join us on the new dates and be amongst the first people to get down to the new songs we’ve been cooking up!
